SAISEI is an installation work driven by environmental forces such as gravity, wind and time which evokes natural spirits. This work is a response to the work of Japanese Butoh and the Butoh artist Tatsumi Hijikata’s reference to ‘Kazedaruma’, a phenomenon seen in Northeast Japan, caused by the great wind mixed with snow.
In contrast to the way everything around us is designed in today’s world, natural forces control the tiny little space of a container. Over the course of the time, the pile of sand will hide and clutter the composed arrangements of sand on the floor at the beginning; playback(saisei) to its' original state. The swirl on the floor at the beginning, which reminds the audience of the Japanese dry garden and water feature like a ripple, will slowly be covered by the sand itself from the funnel.
The sand, pretending to be like water, will be forced to be just a pile of sand with no meaning behind. Meaning, that it comes back to the state where it represents nothing.

Her practice including installations, drawings/paintings and conceptual designs are deeply driven by her perspective on life; the state of solitude, the environmental forces and the absurdity around the world.
Influenced by the complex interaction between human existence and the natural world, Miho’s works reflect ongoing exploration of her identity and the impact of modern society on the environment.
With a background in scenic design, Miho aims to create meditative experiences that engage and transport her audiences through the use of space, materials, and sensory elements. Her work invites contemplation, encouraging viewers to connect with their inner selves and their surroundings in profound and meaningful ways.
